Environmental Education with WESM Blantyre

students play an environmental game

As the journey of rebuilding or rejuvenating wildlife and environmental clubs in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic continues, WESM Blantyre Branch recently embarked on a series of visits to local schools to deliver environmental education.

We made presentations, gave motivational talks and conducted trainings to various secondary schools with a focus on the following topics: climate change adaptation and mitigation, disasters in urban areas, waste management, and deforestation in Malawi. We also continued celebrating the WESM’s 75th anniversary by sharing conservation lessons learnt.

At the end of each visit, WESM Blantyre Branch donated assorted environmental education learning materials and publications to assist the club patrons in running the clubs.
